FASHFEST, in celebrating fashion, arts and culture, is packed with stylish runway shows, featuring beautiful models, extraordinary hair and makeup, live music and original tracks, original short films, glamorous VIP events, parties and more. It is Canberra’s largest fashion event and this year it will be bigger and better. FASHFEST is on from the 29 September – 1 October at the National Convention Centre
This year is the fourth year that the event has been running, and the first time it’s being held in Spring. The past 3 years it has been held in Autumn, so it’s a great change since the weather will be much warmer.
I was looking forward to this event because it is the ultimate and biggest fashion event in Canberra, but unfortunately it is being held the day after I leave for my overseas trip to Europe. Nevertheless, I will be interviewing some of the designers in anticipation for the event including NZ Designer Melanie Child and local designer Zilpah Tart by Yumi Morrisey .
This year’s line up is huge mixed with local, national and international designers such as Karen Lee, Melanie Child and Hunter the Label. Along with these, known retailers will also showcase their fashion line such as CUE, Decjuba, Country Road and Seed. There will be more than 40 designers revealing their new collections on the runway an 40 local, national and international fashion designers who will reveal their new collections on the catwalk.
To accompany the fashion, the sound of FASHFEST will be filled with great lineups with 25 handpicked local musicians and DJs. FASHFEST 2016 will see 3 nights, 6 shows, 3 music themes and 12 musical genres.
So without further ado, here are the fashion lineups for FASHFEST 2016.
