Burt’s Bees BB Cream with Noni Extract Review

I was lucky to receive the Burt Bee’s BB Cream with Noni extract from the gorgeous Lara (@rivetlicker on Instagram). I love BB creams because they feel light on the skin and I don’t tend to use too much make up during the week. I only wear foundation on special occasions.

My usual BB cream that I use is the La Mav BB cream which I love because it’s natural and organic so it’s good for my skin. You can read my review on the La Mav BB Cream here.

What it claims:

The box says the Burt’s Bees BB cream has 9 clinically shown benefits in one easy step:

  • Protects with broad spectrum SPF 15
  • Moisturises
  • Smoothes
  • Visibly firms
  • Illuminates
  • Events tone
  • Conceals
  • Reduces looks of fine lines and wrinkles; and
  • Perfects skin

This BB creams comes in 2 shades: Light/Medium and Medium and retails for AU$29.95. I got the Medium shade.

What I think:

The great thing about this BB cream is that it’s 98.9% natural. It has sun screen protection of SPF 15 with titanium and zinc oxide as the active ingredients. However, I prefer higher sun protection so I still apply my SPF  50+ La Roche Posay sunscreen before applying this BB cream.

I really like this BB cream and I’ve been using it everyday for the past 2 weeks. I like to apply the cream using my fingers. You can use a brush to apply it but I prefer to use my fingers as the warmth from the skin will help it blend in. It gives me a natural lightweight coverage and a dewy finish. It does moisturise my skin as well and does not dry it. If your skin is more on the oily side you may like to apply a bit of powder to set it as it does give a very dewy finish.

The limited shades choice can be a downside. There are only 2 choices: Light/Medium or Medium, so if neither of these suit your skin tone, you won’t be able to use this bb cream. I found the Medium shade just a tad bit light for my skin tone but still wearable. On days where I don’t want to wear too much make up I use this BB cream on its own and some mascara on my lashes. When I want a bit more coverage, I’d set it with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder and apply bronzer to add a bit more colour.

As you can see below, just a pea sized amount of the BB cream evens out my skin tone and brightens up my skin a bit.

Overall I really like this BB cream. It gives me a natural coverage and evens out my skin tone. It’s got great benefits for my skin and it’s a natural product. It would be even better if Burt’s Bees release this in more shades and maybe increase the SPF protection too.

Great review! I’ve been looking at this BB Cream but like you state, it only comes in 2 shades and in my experience, the light/med is always too dark for my fair skin. Too bad too because I love Burt’s Bee products! Tal xo

Hi Tal, Yeah the limited shade is quite a shame actually. I wish they bring out more shades coz it’s a great product!

I’ve been curious to see how good this is, but given the limited shades & my fair skin, I won’t be able to try it for myself. It’s a shame since I do like some stuff from Burts Bees. Hopefully they’ll release more shades (and up the SPF) down the track.

I hope they release more shade too Shell coz I’m finding it to be a great product. I was a little hesitant at first since I read reviews and there were some negative ones but after trying it out myself I love it.

Hi Ina hon! Top class review my dear – I’ve been getting into BB creams quite a bit of late (I’m a slow starter) and this sounds like it might give me enough coverage for the weekends. Your skin looks fabbo! Love Burts Bees products xxx
